Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are chronic, debilitating diseases that disproportionately affect poor and rural populations.  Why are some diseases considered “neglected”?  Despite being among the most common infections in the developing world and the fact that technology and medicines do exist to combat or treat the infections, they are still ravaging communities around the world.

USAID-in partnership with other global health funders-has been working to raise awareness about NTDs and the impact they have on children and families.
